Hi folks,
In my perception a real jawdropper. Can enyone explane me how this CDDB-archive technically works? Following happened:
With Clean and WaveLab I 'remastered' a classical 36 years old vinyl record to CD. I made from each side of the record 1 track and divided it later in the actual number of tracks on the record. I gave these tracks several names, like track 1, or a combination of name and number. At least I burned an image with these tracks to CDrom.
Here comes my big suprise. I tried the newburned cd on winamp and all the real tracknames of this very old record, players and concert names included, appeared in the winamp display.
How is this possible?
How can this analog piece of technic on this old record contain
information that is being transferred to CD and being recognized on the internet?
Later on, I made a new image of the same tracks, because one of the pauses between tracks was little to long. I just shortened this with WaveLab, like I did before with some other tracks. I burned the new image again with Nero, same traject all. But this time the cd is not able to receive any information from the cddb database.
Really hope that somebody can make me wiser on this, tnx allready!!!!
Frank
