Am I Going to blow up my soundcard/

ok, im planning on recording my band soon, i have a mixer, a good computer, a basic soundcard with one line in(thats why im using a mixer) and software. im not getting in to the specifics of this stuff, honestly i dont know all of it off the top of my head and i know its good enough. my question is is it possible that the output im going to plug in to my soundcard can "blow it up"? that would suck... btw i also want an opinion on recording vocals and guitar....obviously our drums will be miked but should i mic the guitar and vocal amps? or should i use the outs on them right into the mixer. and one more thing...shit i forget ill post it later. thanks for answers in advance.
 
Blowing it up would require a combustible material, a blasting cap, and a ignition switch.

The most you will probably get is distortion which may make you want to blow up your card anyway.
 
If you were to connect the speaker outs of a reasonably high-wattage guitar amp to the line in of a soundcard, you sure as hell could toast the soundcard....
 
Connect only microphones to microphone inputs, and only line output to line inputs and only connect speaker outputs to speakers, and you will be fine.

thanks for the tips. ill keep the line output of the mixer low so as not to blow the card. any more advice would be greatly appreciated.

are you Sure you read this ...? "Connect only microphones to microphone inputs, and only line output to line inputs and only connect speaker outputs to speakers, and you will be fine."

... as long as you do that, you should be fine, and don't need to worry about 'keeping the line output of the mixer low' :)
