Actually lee and Bryan - I'm with you guys at the moment - a current project I'm involved with is recording opera for a soprano friend. We are currently working on "The Nun's Chorus" but we've also worked on Oh Holy Night - Divine Reedemer - Panis Angelica to mention a few. :)

My years of choir singing have helped in this for sure. :)

cheers
John

You sang in the choir too huh> The choirs I sang in you showed up and they gave you a book. that is how I 1st learned to read music. You had to sing what you saw. LOL

Hey Bryan, did they assume you had perfect pitch? Or know what a major scale was?
First time I went to a music class, they put a sheet of music in front of me and said sing it. No reletive pitch given, but you were expected to "hear" what key it was written in. Now, for a person who had never had so much as athe word "scale" in his vocabulary, let alone "pitch", I lasted one day. I think back on that teacher, and laugh. Who the heck did she think she was? And what the heck did she think people were there for. If I had perfect pitch, and could sing the notes right from sheet music, WHY would I need her! DUH! Never ceases to amaze me. what moronic concepts some people and institutions have. I mean, if the whole school education thing ran that way..who would need it? We would all know everything in the first place!

I assumme so, this was a bptist choir from a very musical church...

Luckily My Mother had me in front of a piano growing up so once I figured out what Middle C was, I survived. LOL. Just barely. never will forget that little red booklet. Easter Sunday.
