I have a 1975 vintage 12 string. I like it. It's no Martin but it ain't bad.

1977 Model 5044 . I like the playability on the one I have as it has the adjustable bridge height. If you get a good neck, well adjusted, they can be just great. Would not trade mine as it has aged extremely well and sounds excellent. Did get few splits in the spruce top when we moved to California due to the dryness. I keep the humidifier wet at all times which halted the problem.

I have heard some bad ones but also some that would stand up against a Martin or Taylor in sound.

I have an electric/acoustic and an electric that I love. I think for the money they are great guitars. Under $500 each brand new.

Alvarez........

I have an 1996 electric/acoustic, nylon string, cutaway. The soundhole label says Model No. 50307. I bought it used at a local music store so I don't have any specs on it. It sounds great and it's a great one for fingerstyle as the neck is quite wide, probably 1 3/4" at the nut. Cedar top, rosewood back & sides.

Bought a 6-string acoustic for my mom about 6 years ago. Sounds/looks beautiful. Don't remember the model, but it's something like "The Artist" or something.

I have an Alvarez that I have been playing for about 12 years bought it new for about $300 bucks. That guitar has been through late night beer fests, drunken stupers, fallen out of the back of a couple of trucks, been knocked over, passed around, and spilled on (just to mention a few things). It still sounds great!! I played it exclusively untill last year when I bought myself a Martin D16GTE. My Alvarez still sounds great and still gets played regularly. A great guitar for the price!

I play an Alvarez Fushion Acoustic Electric. Its a great guitar.
Only problem was the stock pre-amp system. I gutted it and put a Fishman Prefix Pro in. I have played it side by side with some of the newer low end Martins(which I hate) and it's a far better playing and sounding guitar, period! I took it to a pro shop a while back, and they set the action up to play incredible!
A friend of mine has the same thing & he loves it too.
