Altec mic?

Has anyone ever heard of Altec mics? The one i saw looked pretty old and is sort of like the "elvis" type looking mic. Are these good for anything? Just curious saw one for possibly pretty cheap but not sure if its junk or what.

Altec made lots of mic's. Some are pretty cool. The most famous are probably the "Coke bottle" and the "saltshaker". I'm not sure what the Elvis-looking one might be. Do you see it here:
