cable connector is wiggled into the right place, then the

volume is normal and sounds fine. 1/4" inputs have no problem.

I double checked it all out:

I found only channel 8 had the problem, not 9 & 10. (I had found the problem a
couple months ago and I think I got mixed up when I wrote the ad just recently
because of the way I had to reorganize my instrument-channel arrangement.)

The problem only occurs when the pad is engaged. No problem when it is not
engaged. It is not easy to find the "cable wiggle" sweet spot where the signal
is at its proper level. Therefore, it is practically not useable with the pad
engaged.

Everything else on the mixer is totally fine. No scratchiness in knobs or
faders.
