Flamingo!
Here's the latest of my eclectic electronica. :)

I think this one is my weirdest yet. I'm churning these things out like there is no tomorrow; that's probably due to me going on vacation soon and I want to get as much done as possible.

Thoughts?

Wow, I didn't anticipate most of those changes! I listened through a few times and the first time it all took me completely by surprise - especially the synth pop to baggy/Beta Band type transition early on. It's like a mixtape in a song.

There's a lot of really cool stuff going on and each of the parts stands up well in its own right - I admire the ambition to put this together. In terms of nits, there are a few timing flubs particularly in the first part and I think the vocals there get washed away in the reverb. Also, I wonder if you did a cut & paste job with the wav file for the guitar solo in the last section as some of the notes come in at slightly offbeat places.

Really enjoyable listen though. Quite a few of the parts seem to be worming their way into my brain :D

Gooood, goooood. Let the songs flow through your brain. :D

Thanks a lot for the listen, Rob.

Yeah, I'll certainly have to record some parts again but I have a timing problem that I refuse to fix. :D

Thanks again!

Def a mix tape vibe particularly in using such a well know track.
I'd actually like you to have deconmstructed the known into the unknown.
Fun listen though.

The synth sounds were pretty cool sounding. I liked the changes.

I am not a big fan of a lot of reverb. To me it is really smearing our vocals. they're tough to make out.

The drums are a little far back most of the time. But it's probably a personal taste thing. And yeah some timing problems here and there.

The kick sound in the third section really bugged me. It had a distracting click to it. Lead guitar tone during that section was nice. Too much verb though :). I thought some of the bends in the lead part didn't quite hit the notes they were intending to hit.

My thought is the All Together part needs to be bone dry. I also like the guitar at the end. It sounds like one of Steve Howe's tones.
But how come nearly every electronic composition I hear only has two chords?
I like your use of motives. You go boy.

Thanks rayc. I'll be trying to better myself in this type of music. Right now, I'm mostly experimenting to see what works and what doesn't.

I'll certainly consider your thoughts, especially on the reverb and kick. Sometimes, I get a little reverb happy. :D Thanks for listening!

Yeah, I thought that too! I thought it wouldn't go well considering it would go from reverb section to dry section to reverb but now that I think of it, you're probably right.

I'll definitely work on my chords as well. :D Thanks for listening!
