All hail the Fostex R8

I would just like to say, that I purchased one about amonth and a half ago and I just had my first session on it. Recordingwas a breeze and the 15 IPS really makes a difference. It had minimal noise and it was a totally different animal than TASCAMs mainly becuase the excessive bottom end was not present. Just wanted to share my experience.

Well Scott I've been wondering if you ever got that thing going. I am glad you can put it to use. I know when I had it I enjoyed it too. Keep us all posted.

I listened to your recordings on those spare reels of 456. They sound clean, I woke up my girlfriend and made her listen too, I though it was great to hear someone else's masters. Glad you sold it though, I've actually never been happier with a machine (past discontents: Porta 07 (not enough tracks, no XLRs), Teac 80-8 (too bottom end syrupy), Delta 44 (don't ask), Tascam 688 (as a caveman, I have no idea what I was thinking buying a midistudio).
