You are right moskus... I guess I will stick with Sonar. I already own 2.2 xl, and as soon as I can buy 3 I guess I will buy it. I always try and stay up with the latest release of any software I use... But I hear the gui will be way different... Is this going to pose any problems for me in the "learning curve" aspect of things?
I have had a few "hiccups" with my pci audio card a time or two, but I am sure that it's my crappy Creative 512 pci card, and not my Sonar software... Have their been any major hiccups with sonar with other products. I am gearing twards the Tascam FW-1884 for all my input and output needs, and will most likely getting rid of the PCI512 when I get the tascam... I don't use this computer for anything other than music, and surfing. I have never played games on this machine, and I don't have tons of software installed... This is my setup...
ECS K7 Motherboard (sis chipset)
500 Watt Redundant Powersupplies
AMD Duron 1100Mhz CPU with a Heat pump for a cooler (cpu temp stays below 90 ALL THE TIME)
512 Pc133 Ram (soon to be 1Gig of Pc2700)
Nforce G4 128 Meg Video (AGP)
Adaptec Firewire PCI Card
Sound Blaster PCI 512
Two IBM Deskstar 80 gig IDE Drives (storage, and MP3) (should I go SCSI)
One Maxstor 80 Gig System Drive
What do you guys think??? Anything I should change? I have seen some stuff about the sis chipset and some software not working right together... Is this the case???
I am new so please help. I am just looking to be able to record me and a few friends, and then also use this setup for also recording our live shows...
