Hey, everyone. We're a new band in Orlando, FL called Validium. Our first recorded song is a Hendrix cover/tribute. You can find it on our Music page. We'd sure love to have some feedback on our sound. This track was recorded on a Roland VS-1880 in Dan's living room with 4 non-guitar mics picking up his Marshall Amp. Vocals and bass were added afterwards. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Hey guys...not a bad first effort...mix needs a little work, but you said you pieced it together...
Bass gets lost to me in some spots and the rhythm guitar is a little loud as the song goes on for so long...also the timing between the instruments seems to come and go, but that can be fixed...
I'm from Seattle and studied all my Hendricks licks too...;)
I really think there is more to learn from him in his rhythm playing though...
you guys do a "Wind Cries Mary" cover?...ha ha...
Check out some of the other songs here...

Very good ear! As this was our first recording, I was so proud of how the guitar turned out that I didn't really spend enough time either recording or mixing the bass. The way we record bass now with Nick is to actually mic up his cabinet and run it through a compressor. For this recording the bass was just plugged straight in to Roland without any additional sound modifications. Also, the reason the lead guitar seems to jump in and out is that Dan recorded this completely instrumentally at first. All the vocal sections were done in a seperate take with a wah pedal and it all blended really well. Then I tried a version with me singing and took the wah out. In fact, the lick right after the line "There's too much confusion. I just can't get no release" has turned into an inside joke lick as that's the only piece of the wah part that I left in. Also, the song just felt like it rocked more with the rhythm up an extra notch. Thanks again for the post! Keep checking back as we'll have some original stuff completed soon.
