I do not recommend anything that is Alesis. Their products no longer have the quality that they once did. I have owned several Alesis products and they appear to be great, lots of "stuff" but soon show themselves to be inferior in quality. In other words, they malfunction way to soon and there is little sympathy from folks who work there. I owned the Alesis iO26 and it began to malfunction after only 10 uses. The staff told me that there is nothing they can do because the warranty ran out. Worthless if it does not work. Do not buy their stuff.

Sorry you are having problems. I have the Alesis Mastercontrol and a pair of M1Active monitors and they have worked flawlessly. I know older posts complained about driver issues but Alesis seemed to have gotten that caught up.

The warranty from Alesis is 1 year, not how many times you use it. If it's less than 1 year old, they will cover it. Also, depending where you purchased it, they may have extra warranty. For example,I'm pretty sure Musician's Friend offers a 2 year warranty when purchased from them..

I have a couple of Masterlinks I love.

I had a Quadraverb that died.

Any gear can fail ..........

The IO26 was one of the first of it's kind in firewire interfaces. It was a great idea unfortunately there's been lots of driver problems with the various Microsoft OS's. The units weren't cheap but like most pro-sumer gear it's pretty much a replace rather than repair situation. My friend bought one when it first came out and used it for mostly downloading ADAT tapes to computer. He's never been able to get it to work on his HP laptop (XP). Then again it worked fine on his desktop with Vista which is frustrating. He bought an Edirol 101 USB for the laptop which is his main recording computer. The IO26 is a good but not great product.
