Hi all,
Here's what's going on: I have a drum set utilizing four Alesis Triggers. Each trigger is of course plugged into the Alesis Trigger io which is hooked into Protools.
My issue has to do with the setup inside Protools. Each trigger must trigger a different sound (snare, toms 1 and 2, kick).
I have tried three setups, none work.
Setup 1. One instrument track with a multi-timbral plugin on it. The mult-timbral plugin (Vienna Ensemble) has four instruments, channels 1-4. Four Midi Tracks with outputs set to their prospective "channel" in the multi-timbral instrument track. The inputs to these midi tracks set to "all."
Outcome: Any and every drum that is hit triggers each sound simultaneously.
Setup 2. Same as before with the one difference of the four midi tracks' inputs set to TriggerIO-1, TriggerIO-2, etc.
Outcome: Any and every drum hit bypasses the midi tracks (they don't show any response) and trigger channel 1 in the multi-timbral plugin.
Setup 3. Four instrument tracks and NO midi tracks. Each instrument track with one instance of Vienna Instrument on it (i.e. NOT multi-timbral). Input set to none (there is no option that looks right to me).
Outcome: Any and every drum hit triggers the first instrument track only. The others receive no signal.
I would be most grateful for assistance. WHich setup is "most" right and what must I change with that setup?
Thank you!
