Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the correct area to post this, feel free to move this to the correct area. I'm looking for some help; my church has an Alesis Studio 32 and we've recently bought a new computer and connected it to the Alesis Studio 32 with a simple "line out" from the PC to "line in" on the Alesis. Sound from the PC to the Alesis to the speakers are fine expect for sound from DVD movies. CDs, mp3, and Windows sound come out fine. I'm at a lost as to how to fix this. Any ideas?

I'vew been using a Studio 32 for the past ten years or so.

What isn't "fine" with DVD movie audio?

It would seem that if everything else sounds OK, the issue would be somewhere with the PC or it's software...

Basically the sound doesn't some through to the speakers. I'm using Windows Media Player to play the DVD movie, it's a home made video by the way, and there is no sound. If I plug in a speaker directly to the PC, the sound comes out. When I plug it to the Studio 32 (which is connected to the main speakers), it goes silent. I can see the volume moving up and down on the sound control panel but no sound is coming out. If I switch to a CD or play the standard Windows sound it plays fine. I'll try a different DVD player to see what happens.

Simple...& there are several ways to monitor signals on both the 32 & 24 (I have both). Below is most common.........

Connect signal to be monitored to S-32's "2-TRACK" inputs. Engage "2-Track" switch on board's "CONTROL ROOM" section to down position. Use gain pot in control rm section to increase/decrease listening levels(L/R & Grp faders are disabled in this mode). This mode is most often used on the 32 after mix-down.
