I'm really new to all of this and have been reading the manuals for both extensively, some I understand and some I don't. So I don't know if what i'm trying to do is actually possible or not.

So, the SR16 has a midi in and a midi out, and the Korg TR has a midi in, out and thru. If I connect the TR midi out to the SR16 midi in, I know it can send midi signals and I can create drum beats that way. And also if I connect the midi out on the SR16 to the midi in on the TR I can hear the drum beats, or whatever instrument I have programmed, depending on the midi channel.

I would like to be able to do both at the same time. While composing/recording on the SR16 i want to accept midi signals from the TR while at the same time hear what I'm recording as I do when I connect the SR16 midi out to the TR midi in.

For example, if I connect the SR16 midi out to TR midi in and use the SR16 keys to tap out a rhythm I can hear what I'm tapping as it records and loops through while connected to the TR which is connected to the amp. But I would like to be able to use the TR keys to tap out the rhythm while also hearing it through the TR and amp.

I hope that makes sense ....

Is it possible to do?
