hi. does anyone know any differences between the midiverbs and microverbs?

and are they really THAT bad? i heard a midiverb 2 and thought it sounded pretty good.

also, what's the differences between the midi/microverb 3 and 4?

any other reverb reccomendations to someone who is looking to not spend to much $$ but still wants a good room reverb sound in a full rack unit?

Lexicon MPX500, MPX-1, any of the PCM series...

Midiverbs make good doorstops and minverbs are good paperweights.:)

Ditto to Blue Bear's comments. Check out the Lexicons.

Midiverb/otherverb

The Midiverb I believe has more choices in each patch and probably more choices in patches all together. I.E. More fx and more ways to tweak them than the microverb. The Midiverb is also cool because you can sync it up via MIDI and do all kinds a crazy things with it. I've had a Midiverb for around 2 years and use it often. I think it sounds great. I'm sure a TC electronics sounds nicer or perhaps even a lexicon but for the $ you can't go wrong with the Midiverb. Good luck with it.
Actually, to be truthfull, I'm selling mine. But midiverbs are still great units. I'm just upgrading all my rack gear. If interested drop me a line. Otherwise it'll end up on ebay.

Yo GhettoJon:

:D

Although I'm using my Yam DAW 2816, I still have my MD8 hooked up in my studio. To the MD8 I have An Alesis Midiverb 3 which is a pretty decent unit for the money. Also, I have a Lexicon MPX 100 hooked up to the MD8. Thus, I can do some interesting stuff using both units.

The only thing I don't like about the lexicon is that it has dials instead of a read-out screen. It also has a variation dial that is almost too sublte. But, the 100 does have some nice reverb patches.

Lexicon is a pretty good value at today's prices.

The reverbs on the 2816 are very good but, of course, it's a totaly digital operation.
