I just bought an alesis RA300 and I really like the clarity, but the channels don't seem to be balanced. When I play from a stereo source the left side always is louder than the right and registers that way on the meters. Should I send it back or just compensate by turning the right side up and be happy with the clarity??

You might try switching the right and left around. If the signal problem switches as well, then you have a problem with your source. If not, then I would send that bugger back.

My guess would be that you've got a faulty machine, and that the clarity is standard on the RA300. To solve your problem, go to the store (where you bought it) check out an other RA300, and listen to these to features. If you like the other one better, go for it!

I know this is old as dirt, but this is exactly what happened to my RA300 just before dropping the "right" 2nd channel all together.
