Alesis Point Seven Monitors

Are the Alesis Point Seven Monitors good for a first studio? I will be doing mostly rock stuff with heavy guitars and bass.

I got some of them awhile back. Pretty weak I gotta say. Definately in the get what you pay for catagory.
 
Thanks for the reply. Any recommendations for monitors <$300? I'd like to buy them used.
 
The Event 20/20 and the Tannoy Reveals have both established themselves as excellent monitors for the $300 retail price.

In the powered monitor realm look at the offerings from Event, Yorkville, and M-Audio. Anything from KRK should be good.
