I have a solo project and am in need of a drum machine with presets for suitable for an eclectic mix from swing, Latin, light jazz, and oldies decades from 50s-70s. Currently I have an Alesis RS16, which is ok for most rock, a few Latin and basic ballads but there's something about the way it uses the bass drum instead of snare-back beat that makes it a little awkward for British invasion for example.
A few specs: not interested in programming the rhythm, hitting pads or going through complicated tinkering with presets. All I want to do is select a basic beat and press a button for fills/intro/outro (yeah, robotic, I know, which is why I didn't post in the drum forum). Ease of operation is more important than price, a zillion drum sets and the latest electro-techno options.
Any ideas on brand and model I should be looking at are welcome.
