I have a Alesis Multimx 8USB hooked up to the computer with a MXL condenser microphone but when its plugged up i cant get any sound and why is this

Rightly or wrongly you aren't going to get much help due to the cross posting and the fact you provide virtually no information about the problem...
Try doing some trouble shooting (testing each part of the signal chain, are lights on? input indicators?) and get back to us.
