Alesis Multimix 16 - I'm Retarded

I can't shake this same shitty problem - It keeps dropping out, and I was starting to think that it is a problem wit the cable, but I keep hearing that this is common with PCs. Has anyone else has this much crap to deal with? what about mac? yeah, whats the word on this crap?
 
unload this f*cking thing... i've had mine about 4 years, been nothing but a problem. I've reinstalled windows so many times, tried sp2, sp3... it works once in a while, reinstalled with xp sp1, which seemed to be the most stable because of the firewire issues in windows, but now it seems to work for about an hour then the jitters start and dropouts. haven't tried the beta drivers, but i don't think its worth it...

i hate alesis.

there should be a class action lawsuit for this thing... seriously
 
try the new drivers which you can get on their site. me and my friend had countless problems along the same lines. im pretty sure the drivers will fix most of the multimix problems

and yes they should of been sued imho

yes i know i posted this a while ago, but i did update the drivers months ago and that fixed everything. I haven't been on this site in a while!
 
I found this site searching for "Alesis multimix class action"

Alesis manufactured a bunch of these worthless pieces of crap. There is a reason they stopped making the multimix 12 and multimix 16 . The firewire crapped out on mine while it still was on warranty (barely). They fixed it, and two years later, the firewire crapped out again. Now I have an overpriced mixer, which will probably fail also.

I had tons of problems while it worked too... system freezes, crashes, slow unstable system..... All of this magically went away when I went to a PCI based MOTU system.... Before I could not see a performance difference between my Quad core AMD Phenom 9500-based system and my old P4.... The Alesis was that much of a bottleneck, i.e. when it still worked.

Does anyone know a lawyer who wants to take on a class action? I wouldn't mind getting some of my money back for this waste of desk space.

Prior to all of this, I was a huge Alesis fan, and have tons of their other gear. This left such a bad taste in my mouth that I have decided to boycott them.
