What Power Amp for Alesis Monitor One MK 2 psv. monitors??

Hello all! I am brand new to this forum and very inexperienced with home recording hardware, so please bear with me and my n00bishness - although I am not a n00b when it comes to forums, so I fully expect my fair share of n00b hazing! LOL

On to my quesition. I have acquired a pair of Alesis Monitor One MK 2 nearfield monitors (passive). I want to use them in my humble, PC-based home studio for mixing and "mastering" my bands material. I don't have a power amp to drive these monitors and I also have a very low - almost non-existant budget (let's say max. ~$150) - can it be done? Am I on crack?

I would love suggestions about how I can adequately power these monitors on a shoe-string budget. What is the absolute lowest $$ I could spend and on what name/product? Are there any creative, "do it yourself" solutions? (I don't expect there to be any, but it's worth a shot).

I plan to hit the pawn shops, look on craigslist, used sections of music stores, et al. but I want to be armed with knowledge so I don't get home with crap or don't spend more than I have to.

Any help is appreciated!

I'd really like some thoughts on this, so I am bumping...

Again, I need recommendations for an inexpensive and adequate power amp to run my Alesis Monitor One MK 2 passive monitors.

My studio is hobbiest so pro-level gear is not req'd at this time.

Thanks!

I've been using a Samson Servo 550 for the past few years. You can get them fairly cheap. Seemed to work well with my Alesis M1's.

Thanks for the input. I have a better idea what I can expect now.
