Does anybody have any experience with this new beast. The specs are brutal and the company very reputable. I have come across information on the 'net but no reviews as of yet. And the big question: (if it is a good unit) what does it cost? I've heard that it is "about the same as a good DAT machine." Is that a good $700 unit or a good $1500. I don't have a speedy computer at home so this unit with its internal hard drive and dedicated CPU, if at a decent price ($1000) would make it an enticing unit. Anybody got a scoop on it yet?

Hi Jim:

I purchased my ML 9600 (new, never opened) on ebay for $895.

You gotta keep hitting on them till you win one at a lower price.

I am looking for someone on this forum who burns vilyl LP to CDR with the 9600 regulary.

I am a newbie and need a lot of help with it.

The Masterlink is a GREAT unit... I couldn't live without it!

I'm with Bruce: I like _both_ of mine (one in the studio, one in my location recording rack). Couldn't live without mine, either. For someone who does not want to do computer mastering, it is invaluable. Do a search on "masterlink" here on this site for more info. And here are some other reviews from the Web:

A quick google search will get you even more, but that'll give you something of the flavor of the box... Two thumbs up from me.

buy one!!!!!!!!!

I found a brand new one through are local tradin times magazine for $650.00.Needless to say I bought it immediately.Eveything was still in the plastic. I noticed in the october issue at guitar center they have it priced at $999.00 but I was there today and I didn't see any units on the floor so who knows if at this point alesis is shipping them out.I'd still grab one!!!!!!!!!
