Well I just stumbled on this site as I have basically stepped away from home recording for quite a few years now. Between running a small business and three children time has really gotten away from me.
I just ordered an Alesis iMultiMix 9R Rack mount Mixer to add into my racks in order to help things along. I am basically a rock and roll guitarist now trying to get the band back together (my kids on rhythm & drums)
Does anybody have this mixer? Looks like a pretty good entry level mixer. The reason I went with this is rack mount is a necessity for me as is portability. Any reviews on this mixer?
Here are a few of the vintage goodies (that will show how long I have been away) that I plan to run into the Alesis …

is that a PA mixer??? it looks like a live line mixer.

i have an Alesis multimix usb 8 and an Alesis multimix 16 2.0(multi track)

both of those are REAL nice. especially the 16 track version 2.0. the 2.0 versions of the multimix series are "multitracks". with most DAW's it will unload every track to a digital track.

Wowwwww! Alesis mixers!!!!

I'm old skool and own both Alesis Studio 24 & 32 mixers!

Decent, analog units perfect for ADATS & the like. Not great, just decent.

Like the 24 & 32, the iM-Mix9R basically is designed in the same vein as these units (w. the exception of IPod capabilty) with extremely limited grouping/bouncing options and signal control. Also it confines the user to only a pair of aux sends & just 1 return. It's more suitable for p.a., lecture, live presentations, etc rather than recording. But if this is your budget & this is what you want............just my opinion.
