Hello, im new here :)
Recently ive decided on buying these 2 products, are they worth it?
How good is the alesis io2, and how good is the at2020?
Im not new to recording or equipment, but this is the first time purchasing my own (as the only other equipment ive used is my colleges equipment which is way out of my price range). But is the at2020 good as a starting mic, id rather not buy a dynamic yet since id rather just go straight for a large condenser.
If your wondering the sort of stuff i will be recording will be acoustic guitars, maybe guitar amps, di guitar & bass, maybe some vocals, and other potential rhythmic items like tambourines and clapping and such :P

No to the Alesis as firewire drivers are scarce and so are laptops with TI firewire chipsets. The IO2 is also obsolete. I would go with a newer USB 2.0 interface. A lot of people say that firewire is slowly dying, so go USB for longevity.

isnt the IO2 a usb interface, all the ones ive checked have said usb, are there any relatively good interfaces with 2 XLR and 2 3/4 inputs for roughly £100? ive been looking at loads, and most of them have major faults (such as the M-Audio fast track pro having poor pre amps). Any help would be appreaciated :)
