My friend is using the Alesis io26 with HP laptop, XP, with fireware port. Cubase LE which came with it is working fine for ADAT -> Cubase multitrack download.
1) Can't seem to get Cakewalk 9.0 to recognize the Alesis IO26. Will this version of Cakewalk record multitrack from the Alesis. If yes any advice as to what settings need to be tweaked to get it to see the 8 channels? Cakewalk is the old standard used so it would be nice to keep using it....
2) Is SONAR the better/possible choice here - I believe it has a multitrack capability. Could purchase SONAR if it is recommended over Cubase LE.
3) What other software will work with the Alesis? For ADAT download and multitracking in general.... Any insight into packages you have gotten to work would be greatly appreciated.
4) PROTOOLS is proprietary right? So it cannot work with anything but Digidesign hardware....
5) Recommendations for Multitracking/MIDI software that will work with the Alesis to as it needs some MIDI capabilities for drums/synths.....
Thanks in advance - great features on the Alesis io26 BTW.....
