I think I'm gonna grab one of these and a kick trigger and use it for making kick notes, in midi, with Sonar. I probably start doing this instead of suing a mic since i have such great samples anyway. Hell, might even sell the kick mic.
Anyway, say I want the kick trigger to trigger, umm, D5 on the piano roll, will the DM5 do that on its own, or do I have to set my program up and/or move the triggered notes around to the proper place after its recorded?
Might buy a couple of those low cost plastic cymbal triggers and use those in place of the real thing too, increase the cymbal count dramatically, cheaply.
Thanks for the help.

Yes... The DM-5 should send midi messages to your DAW which will record the performance. You can go back and assign sampled to the recorded notes...

On the cymbal triggers... you're not going to be happy with the performance of cheap plastic triggers... the dynamics of the cymbal performance makes it one of the most difficult drum components to replicate via midi triggering (especially the hi-hat). Many drummers will use electronic kits with real cymbals.
