Problem: My second Alesis Controlpad also skips every other drum stroke when hitting two drums at once.
Solution: The solution to that is to alter the the midi length. I've tried changing legato to 15 ticks in Cubase 4 - file - preferences - midi and it got a little better, but not perfect.
I've heard you should use some kind of midi converter, maybe a sysex editor, and change the length of every midi note. The notes it sends is unstable and unevenly strong. By lengthening the notes maybe my BFD 2.0 will hear it better. I have tried several other programs with similar results.
Method: Now I need to know how to test this Sysex theory. But what software works? Midi-ox did not recieve any data, even though I set it to 2048 as Alesis recommends. Alesis did not recommend Midi-ox for the Control Pad anyway.
References: Check out Phillips response and my own of course by googling: "Axeman's Alesis Control Pad"
Cheers, Joni
