Alright, first off, you guys have been such a great help/resource

Im planning on getting the delta 1010 and a soundcraft spirit m12 mixer, a soundcraft fx16 mixer or an alesis studio 32 mixer as my new setup and was just wondering if this would be okay/present any problems. I was planning on using the channel direct outs right into the ins on the delta so any opinions/advice on which mixer i should purchase would be great.

any advice is appreciated...thanks

I don't know why there would be any problems, I'm using a Alesis 12R with my 1010 and love it. I think the Alesis mixers are great especially for the price.

The Soundcraft have much better mic preamps and EQ than the Alesis, plus it has a S/PDIF digital out that you can plug directly into your 1010.

I've got the 32's little bro, the "24"..

Someone mentioned better preamps and eq on the soundcraft and that is probably the case. But those more inexpensive (in comparison to their siblings) soundcraft are not using the classic preamps that Souncraft is famous for...like the ghost preamps. So "how" much better, I don't know. I know when I upgrade my Studio 24 I will be making a quantum leap in price because I will want someting in the class of the ghost consoles.

One nice little thing about the Alesis 32 in using those direct outs is the patching capabilities you have with that. All those outs also have an input on every channel which can make it real nice for certain monitoring setups. In that price range you will not find a mixer with that kind of I/O, at least I haven't seen one. You also don't have to use the 32's preamps on everything. I use a stand alone preamp on a lot of my stuff.

The M12 uses mic pres that are nearly identical to the Ghost pres.

Ive got an M8 on the way- should be here middle of the week- do all of the M series use the same pres- i imagine they do- sorry scooter- didnt mean to hijack yer thread :-) I have the 1010lt too- cant wait for that all to come together.
