Not really that good unless you are looking for a colored sound from your compressor. It is not that the 3630 doesn't have all the controls of a "real" good compressor, it is just that it really colors the sound quite a bit. I have found uses for this "colored" sound here and there, but if you are looking at the 3630 as your main compressor, well, I think that you will be really disappointed.

Look into the Behringer Composer. It only cost's a couple bucks more, and it really is a much better compressor than the 3630.

Hey you may want to consider that that really nice compressor ?

Don't forget--what sounds "colored" to one person is "transparent" to another. And let's face, what one person prefers is because of their sound taste (no offense to Ed, I actually value his opinions). I guess the real test is to listen to the Alesis and Beringer and a couple of others and see if you like how they sound. I've heard some good things about RNC, dbx and Meeks compressors, also.

Peace, Jim
