Hello,
This is my first post on this forum. I recently purchased a Behringer MX1604A mixer online, and I have encountered some problems. First, I barely receive a level through the stereo line inputs--even when my keyboards are turned all of the way up. I have an average reading of about -10db, with drops as low as -20db. The sound is rather muddy also, even with the EQ flat in the 12 o'clock position.
Needless to say, I am rather worried about replacing the mixer for another Behringer. I'm not certain if these low levels are normal. I was rather interested in the Alesis 12R, and I was thinking that I would pay the difference and get this mixer. Is anybody using this mixer? Are you able to receive significant volume from your keyboards using the line inputs--and while keeping the Trim down? I need something that can provide levels close to 0db because I am recording on a Roland VS1880 digital studio. I would prefer to achieve this level--or at least close to it--without using the Trim on the Alesis. Is this mixer any good? Is it quiet?
Thanks in advance for your responses.
