Albums/Cassettes to PC?

I would like to record my old albums and cassettes to my hard drive then make CDs of them and have no idea on how to do this. My system is an AMD Thunderbird 750Mhz with 256M RAM and Soundblaster Live Platinum with live drive.

What do I need to do to connect my turntable and cassette deck to my PC? This is going to be a one-time setup as I no longer buy LPs or cassettes. Can anyone out there help the recording challenged? Really need to explain in basic detail.

The link that giaschel gave you should do the trick. If you still have some more questions and any problems, just post us back :) .

But, here is the process in a nutshell

turntable or tapedeck > receiver > computer sound card LINE IN (not MIC IN, :) ).

You will probably need to purchase a 1/8 inch male stereo to L/R male RCA cable.

You will also need a program to help you to record and edit you WAV. file (songs).
