I am about to begin a large album to CD transfer involving thousands of albums.
I need some advice on which soundcard, CD burner (should be RW, not for audio, but other uses), and software to get.
I already have good analog equipment to play and preamp the albums.
Since the project is so big, I cannot babysit each song/album to get the absolute best results, but need software that will de click and de hiss the albums with a standard preset that will get good results without constant adjustments.
I have prior computer experience, having just retired from the computer business to pursue other interests, as well as some analog electronics and home recording prior to the digital age, so making or modifying
equipment such as high or low pass filters could be an option if needed for best results or to save a lot of money.
I am hoping to make CD's suitable for playing on high end home audio equipment.
My computer is an AMD 400 K6-2 w/ 128 ram and a 13 gig HD.
