Hey what's up Musicians? I'm having an issue. I record my vocals in a very small closet booth I built with the foam padding for the acoustic benefit. I place the mic in the corner--I stand back far enough, with a mic volume set on the AudioBox interface it's outputted from at a level maybe a quarter or more over half turned-up. So it goes to 30db... I'll say +19-21db. I keep getting a hollow sound. It's clear--yes, but hollow.

I turn the volume down in order to stand closer and refrain from clipping... too low or drowned under the music. I'm frustrated.

Why the hollow sound with this mic? Or at what level should I be recording?

The 'hollow' is from that closet. Get out of the closet! And stand closer to the mic.
Sounds like you need to re-look at your mixing technique if your vocal, after recording, is too low compared to the instruments. Normalize the vocal track or turn the damn instruments down!

The 'hollow' sound could come from the closet.

It could also arise if your using a combination of hardware and software monitoring. Check to make sure you are just using one (preferably hardware, i.e. via your interface).
