Welcome to the jungle.
Hi, I have used a D112 for quite a while, but I don't have it any more.
I was looking into getting a new one and saw the AKG D11 and the ad says it's based off the D112. But it's quite a bit cheaper.
Does anybody have experience with the D11? How does it compare in sound to the D112?
Do they share the same capdule/diaphragm? Is th cost savings in the case/grille?

Info from music123:

AKG D11 $99
(anyone know what the CCS printed on the mic stands for?)

AKG D112 $199

CCS stands for "Crystal Clear Sound" - and not for "Cheap Chinese Sound", as I thought first. ;)

From www.akg-acoustics.com:
"AKG Acoustics closes the gap between low-cost/low-quality offerings and professional microphones with an attractive line of microphones for a large range of requirements and applications. The CCS Series microphones do not only provide crystal-clear sound, but come in professional cases showing all important specs and features at a glance.
Choose from six dynamic microphones including models for…"

CCS seems to be a complete line of mid-price microphones from AKG. It stand for "Crystal Clear Sound". I have no experience with them, however.

Hmm, I guess I should play it safe and get the D112.
