I recently came into possession of a pr of akg CE1 mics. There is an on/off switch with AKG SE5 underneath. It takes a Mallory PX 23 silver oxide 6 volt battery. I can't seem to find any info on these mics. I need compatable battery types, and any tech info available. Thanks in advance!

For batteries... look for model S23PX. It's a direct replacement for the original PX23. Can't tell ya anything about the mic.

CE-1 is the designation for the capsule-

Here's a link with a little more on the mic, which is a C501E or a C501 short, which I think both used the CE-1 capsule (and CE-2, CE3. etc.):

It isn't much. They look like oldies but who knows? They may be pretty good mics. They are electret condensers. I think the diaphragms have a permanent static charge, and they may have lost some of it over the years, but they probably still work. Best of luck.-Richie
