I have been recommended this mic and am looking at buying one but I would like to know people's opinions on the mic. It is currentley at a price of £200/$300.

I haven't heard the B version but have heard the original; which is my second least favorite large diaphragm condenser I've heard.

the c3000b is a good choice for just about anything. i recently got more inputs on protools and have been buying as many inexpensive condensers as i can afford for doing tracking of live bands.
i just got a rode nt-1, which is another good choice, but the c3000b works alot better on the louder stuff (drums/elec. guitars), and comes with a really nice shockmount.
i have the older c3000 too...the new one is a little less noisy than that one, and has a slightly fuller sound.
anyway if you play acoustic only, the nt-1 might work a little better, but if you do any
drum miking, get the 3000b, it can handle higher sound levels.

ns:

You just got an NT-1 and already have a C3000, correct?

I'd be interested to know which one you prefer on vocals and acoustic guitar for your average home recording singer/songwrtiter.
