Repeat: The AKG C3000 is not an accurate mic. I'm sure for many reasons, but here's one:

The mic doesn't follow the transiets fast enough; just like many large diaphragm condensers.

You better use a small diaphragm condenser to get more of an accurate reponse. Or if you want a large diaphragm to follow the transiets a lot better, buy a Manley or Brauner. Or, just have your choice of mic modified by Stephen Paul for a smaller micron diaphragm.

You want the most accurate mic, get a hold of a B&K (IMHO). Boring...!!! (IMHO)

In what applications would the AKG be best suited for.Reason being,a particular individual is selling off his mic's(financial probs.) and i already bought a NT1
from him and i figured for $125.00(probably can get him lower depending on how desparate
his situation is)this could be a fine addition to my mic arsenal.

At the price, it would be worth it just as a "mic in a pinch"; you get what I'm saying?
