I was just wondering if the AKG C1000S plug can be 'converted' to a smaller one, say one that fits into a MD recorder? :o

Probably a stupid question but thanks for putting up with my n00bness.

Thanks.

the plug? the xlr input? yeah there are cables that go from xlr to 1/4 and then get a smaller 1/4 to 1/8 cable and there you go. dont get a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter plug because thats going to weigh down the connection on the md recorder.

Griffin makes an adapter that goes directly from XLR into 1/8", but I don't know if you'd have phantom power issues, or need a preamp of some sort. They also make the iMic, which has a wee preamp built in.
(Why does this sound familiar?)

If you use the adapter, you'll have to run the mic on battery power.

LXR to 1/4" and 1/4" to 1/8" adaptors in sequence would do it. Then put a 9v battery in the mic and you're good to go.
