Hello,

My retailer offer me the AKG C4000B for 250€ (+- 340$) in sold.

I'm recording voice and instruments (guitar, piano, violin) and I already have a SM58.
I've heard that this microphone isn't so good for vocals but is well in instruments... I don't know if I'm right but however,
is it better to save this money in order to buy an other microphone (as good in voice as in intruments) or to buy this anyway and buy another one especially for voice?

Maybe can I couple it with my SM58 in any way?

Thanks

You can always just keep your 58 and upgrade your preamp!

I love the C4000B (others don't) it sounds good on bass cabs, acoustic guitars and I even use it out front of the kick drum. It also sounds good on my vocals, it does not sound good on my wife's vocals or the guitarist in my bands vocals, so it suits some people but not others.

I also reckon it would sound good on double bass, cello and guitar cabs but I don't use it for that as I have other mics I would use first. The C4000b is a very useful mic and the price would be about right depending on if it was new and which country you are in if its second hand try to get the price down a little, I think they are about $500 new in the USA now originally almost $1000. Very good review here.

You know the old saying (moresound knows) you can never have too many mics.
