I am using an akai s3000xl connected (via SCSI) to a Mac (os8.6), and reading my akai/emu CD-ROMs on my Macs CD-ROM drive. Currently I can only audition samples from the CD-ROMs by loading the samples to the akai, and with only 16mb of ram in the akai, I can only audition a few samples at a time. This is extremely time consuming.

I am looking for a Mac software app which will allow me to audition all my akai/emu CD-ROMs samples, without having to actually load them into the akai in order to audition samples.

AS I'm sure you may know, if you insert an akai/emu formatted CD-ROMs into the Mac ROM drive, the Mac will present a message stating this is not a Mac formatted disk, but the 3000xl will still read from the Mac ROM drive. What would be even nicer is the ability to actually transfer all my akai/emu sample CD-ROMs onto my Mac HD. But, unless there is a software out there which will override this Mac message, I cannot transfer these sample CD-ROMs to the Mac HD.

I hope this made sense? Any advice would be great.

well, i have a s3200xl with an external sony drive and it loads samples pretty quickly...your setup possibly might have some conflicts because your sharing a drive with the mac...Akai samplers work very well with apple cdrom drives so there won't be a problem with your sampler loading from em, but the mac os will not read akai data...

you may want to do a search to see if there is some shareware out there (probably is) like some sort of emulator that will let you load akai/emu on ther mac...
