Well, I've been debating for a while now and I can't seem to come to a conclusion so I thought that it'd be ideal to ask you guys: should I buy an AKAI MPK25 or an M-Audi Axiom 49 49-key MIDI Controller?

Performance-wise, what's better? I've been really focusing on the AKAI. Although it's only disadvantage is being so small, it enables portability. Also, it has all of the functions a 49-key would have. It's just, well, smaller. The primary reason of why I'd like to purchase a MIDI controller is to create beats.

Thanks, you all! :)

if you can find one

A couple years ago, I helped a girl get into a laptop computer bundled up with Reason and a couple MIDI controllers so she could practice all the neat new stuff I was introducing her to.

She bought an Axiom 61 (to use at her apartment), and also a Roland Edirol PCR-M1 ($150) which tucked nice and neatly into her bookbag where she could go to any restaurant with her headphones and make music while drinking coffee.

Well, she LOVES her Edirol, but I see now that I think it has been discontinued. Too bad! The newer versions are big and clunky, like the Axioms.

Here's the link for it on Roland's site. Be sure to look through all the images so you can see how sleek, lightweight, and portable it was. Maybe you can find one on Ebay or a music store with one left in stock. Good luck!

I'd imagine any audible difference would be negligible and it wouldn't surprise me if the send from the group sounded more 'unified' than sends from individual tracks. If you definitely want to apply the verb to the signal as a whole, there's nothing illegal going on.
ecause it's generally just not done that way...?

Say you have to get a dozen eggs -- Would you want to send 12 cars (using 12x as much gas and wear-and-tear to those vehicles) to the store and have each one pick up one egg and bring it back home
