Greets,

This is my first post here, so 'hi' to all.

I'm interested in recording my music using my PC and as little moolah as possible. I already have just about everything I need but I have a burning question for the forum:

If I record one track at a time (guitar, bass, vox) and use MIDI for percussion tracks, I don't see the need for multiple (or even stereo) 'ins'. Is there a high-quality (clean 24/96 ADC) mono solution out there? Perhaps even a basic USB device?

Thanx in advance.

M-audio Audiophile2496
M-audio Audiophile2496 USB
Echo Mia

all <$200... duo channels, great stuff!

Thanks Leeking,

I've read up on the M-Audio cards and though they look like great solutions, I'm actually after something much simpler.

I'm suggesting that if I use my existing plain sound card to monitor with and use as a MIDI interface for percussion, why can't I find a simple mono-in solution with which to record my guitar, bass, and vox, one-at-a-time?

Does anyone know of such a device or is there simply nothing like this available?

that's exactly what the cards like Audiophile2496 are for. I think 2 I/Os are the minimum number for audio cards... but I don't see that as any concern... they are so cheap right now... it's gonna cost you the same even if you can find a mono imput card. :)

I have a Audiophile2496, and I am using it to record vocals, guitars, bass one at a time.
