Advice needed on soundcard !

OK, Sound Blaster might not be the real stuff, but probably it's the only one that fits my budget...

Here's my dilemma: an Audigy 2 platinum or an Extigy. I know the platinum performs better, but I hate crawling on the floor round my desk(?)top to change cables etc. The Extigy would fit better in my cute little studio setting, but as a hopeless PC-analfabetic I can't judge its peformance. Any suggestions?

Nonsense !!! You can get an Audiophile 2496 new off ebay for less than a SB and it will perform much better.

Terratec is quite popular in Europe. Check out the EWX24/96, DMX 6Fire and 6FireLT. I use an Echo Mia which is a great soundcard. Avoid soundblasters.
