I know that it is a microphone made in the Alctron Ningbon [sic?] Factory in China to Dave Thomas' (owner/operator of Advanced Audio) specs, but basically the same as the Apex 435. It has some capacitor changes from the Apex and possibly a different capsule and transformer (not sure of the last two). If you're going to buy one, I think the version he offers with the Peluso capsule (a CEK-89-- Peluso capsule modeled after the U-67 capsule), might represent a better value based on his and other folks' posts. I've seen more comments about his work on other MB's.
He's currently pimping out a Nady TCM1100 for me with a Peluso CEK-12, Cinemag tranny and the tube circuit changes (and rewiring to make it 9-patterns) that he offers. Hope to have that (relatively) soon and I will post some comments about that as soon as I have it and can give it a whirl.
