I've been looking for a bit now and came across a couple websites that offer 'audio' friendly computers.

I did consider the MacPro but I just dont feel the need to pay the extra 500 for the Apple logo.

http://www.adkproaudio.com/, seems to offer very good laptops that would run me about half a grand less than the Mac.

Or are Macs really that good?

Any other websites that offer customizable audio computer? I'll look at any, if any of you know some.

Thanks in advance.

I've been doing a bit of research myself for a good laptop to record on.

I've compiled a list of sites I was recommended too by a few Army buddies of mine.

Here they are

Eurocom.com
Powernotebooks.com
Ibuypower.com
Pro-star.com

They are a bit much, Ibuypower being the lowest in prices, but I have ready unbelievable horror tales about their service. I'd beware. When talking to a customer rep, I felt like I was talking to a 15 year old gamer, that just lost a match in Halo.

I finally decided on ADK, being a couple hundred cheaper than the mentioned above. Check them out, but ADK is probably your best bet. Im sure alot of others can agree to this.

As for what you should buy, either Mac or PC? Just think of it this way, if your more familiar with a PC, then get a PC. If your more familiar with a Mac, get a Mac. Trust me, I tried working on aProtools HD system on a Mac operated gig, and I was over whelmed. Maybe because im not too familiar with it, but it all goes hand in hand. Go with what you know. You can never lose.
