Went to the first show of Adele's Australian tour last night, awesome show. Thanks to the wife for talking me into going.

About 65,000 people, oh I took the photo from my helicopter when flying in ....... Just Joking :D

No cameras were allowed, only mobile phones, so could not get a decent photo as we were a fair way back, still was a good view. Found this photo which shows the stage, The centre part was stationary and Adele stood up there some of the time, around that the band were on a rotating stage, then there was the outer ring where Adele walked around. She said during the show that she was getting plenty of exercise as she did not realise the outer ring was a long way round LOL.

In the photo the guys standing on the outer ring were the male choir for the Skyfall song. The crowd in between the outer ring and the main stage were the VIP Ticket holders $700 + per ticket. Oh I'm back in the outer stands in the cheaper seats  The curved video Screen was great. Here is also a link to the stage assembly time lapse.

I am a big fan of Adele, such a great voice. Not sure I would brave that crowd, but I am sure it was a good performance and show.

So - what makes this thread pop up in "Trending content" all of the sudden? Forum glitch?

I'm sure it was a great concert, but I much prefer a more intimate setting. 2000 seats or so seems about perfect. 20,000 is getting a bit much for me. 65.000 and I'll take a pass. It's nice to be able to see the performer without needing 50x binoculars!

Like @TalismanRich I prefer small venues - 65.000 even when you are close is just too big.

Absolutely. Of course - I'll always prefer a smaller venue. I avoid arenas and stadiums altogether these days.

However - the above Adele tour came to town here in DFW at the American Airlines Center (early Nov. 2016). A close friend and his wife had purchased two *extra* pairs of tickets hoping to re-sell them for a profit. Couldn't find a buyer and gifted them to my wife and I and another couple. We took the train downtown, walked in the AAC, and were directed to seats dead center about 50 ft from the "center" stage. The seats were awesome. I'm not a big Adele fan - but my wife is - so I was familiar with a lot of her material as it gets played here in the house. One of the best concerts I've ever been to - and I've been to a lot over the last 40+ years. Incredible production. I was very impressed. And it was just a really fun night in general.

** I'm still wondering why this topic just suddenly appeared in the trending column with no bump. ?????

Edited to add: My wife informed me that we were not gifted those tickets - and actually paid regular price for them.
