Hey all,
I picked one of these up for $125 on ebay recently, and have successfully swapped the op-amps with AD823AN's and put RCA black plate 5751 tubes (late 1950's) in it. Already can hear the difference! For a total investment under $200, I think I'm sitting fairly well.

I've read a few posts here and elsewhere about futher modding, and am curious about just that. I'm pretty much an amatuer when is comes to this stuff, but can do basic soldering. Would swapping the input transformers be too ambitious? Looks like four leads and some soldering, but I know there is more at play here - impedance, etc. Any thoughts? I've looked into Cinemag already.

Honestly, it sounds pretty respectible already with what I've done, but I guess I'm curious and bored!

Hi warble2, I realize this is an old thread but where did you get the opamps and did you try the input transformer swap? How is the 220 holding up? Thanks, Don
