I want to add on to my studio so far I have

Microphone
Studio Monitors
Pop Filter
Mixer/Preamp
Audiophile Soundcard
Radium Midi Controller Keyboard
And A Computer of course

I do hiphop and r&b music. I was wondering what else should I add on, I can record music already and etc, but It just feels empty any ideas?

Good drums and bass sounds

Effects- reverb, compressor, plug-in or hardware effects

UPS- uninterrupted power supply

Acoustically improve your studio

If the music 'sounds empty' then it could be a couple of things:

1. The room is detracting from your sound.

2. You could be doing some processing to your sound that would make it sound better (compressing/limiting, reverb, EQ, etc)

3. The microphone is not bringing out the best qualities in your music. Not every microphone is best for every purpose.

But it is hard to tell which without hearing. What I would suggest doing is posting a sample raw track on the MP3 clinic here but be sure that you say in your post that you are posting a raw track and that you are looking at what improvements should be made in the recording setup and what processing would improve it. Otherwise some troll will treat it like it is a finished piece and give you no usefull advice.

Nah, the music doesnt sound empty bad choice of words ,, umm I think I need more sounds , is the emu phatt good?
