Adding Effects To The Mix

Hi, I have an E-MU 1212m soundcard and Sonar 4 Producer. I have a Lexicon MPX-550 effects box plugged into the sound card via the S/PDIF. Now the tough part is how to set things up to add the effects to the recordings during mixdown. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Well...to have the Lexicon setup as an insert effect, simply select the input/output of the lexicon on the audio interface. im not too familiar with sonar, but if u want to add effects from an external box and put it on a dry mix(post recording), then u would want to send the track to the lexicon and back to the channel. because u want the audio signal to go the effects box and back. it would be easier if u had a mixer because u would get Aux sends and returns.
