Hello guys and girls,
I've recently unearthed an old Tascam Portastudio 424 mkiii and I'm just in love with it, for the longest time I've just been using my Macbook and a copy of Pro Tools a friend gave me, Pro Tools is all well and good but recording on this machine is just way to fun.
So my question is, because this machine does have any stereo sends/returns for any FX I was wondering how I would run my compression/gate into it. Would it just be a case of Microphone > Compressor > Tascam? I'm not a professional engineer, I literally take my gear to practice sessions with mates who are in bands and we mess about a record demos but I just want to see what I can do in terms of FX since a little bit of compression and reverb would give it a big boost. Now I've mentioned reverb, in this set up would I just daisy chain the FX together like you would on a guitar pedal board
Mic > Compressor > Reverb > Tascam
You professionals out there must be able to help me with this!
